New York Liberty 2020 Stats

New York Liberty 2020 season: 2–20, scoring 71.9 points per game and allowing 85.9 (-14 average margin) across 22 games. Updated August 16, 2026.

Scouting report

The Liberty finished 2–20, 12th in the league standings, with a -17.2 net rating that ranked 12th of 12. The problems ran both ways: 12th in offensive rating and 9th in defensive rating. They played fast, too — 2nd in pace. Nothing jumped off the page as a strength, and the weak spots were shooting efficiency (43% eFG, 12th) and turnovers (21.6 a game, most in the league). Scoring was spread around — Kia Nurse led at 12.2 a game, but no one accounted for more than 16% of the points, though the on/off numbers point to Leaonna Odom as the one they can least afford to lose — +10.7 per 100 possessions better with her on the floor. The lows: an 8-game losing streak (Aug 29–Sep 13) and a 41-point loss at the Storm on Aug 18. They went 1–11 against teams at .500 or better. Bottom line: a difficult season, with Kia Nurse the main reason to watch and its shot quality the most urgent fix.
